StudentLink Monthly Feature: Children of Afghanistan

Afghanistan

This girl does not know how old she is. Her parents were killed by a bomb dropped by an airplane when she was younger.

She left her country of Afghanistan with her brother to find safety in the neighbouring county of Pakistan.

For many years the photographer who took this picture tried to find her but he did not know her name or where she went.

Recently, he found her. Her name is Sharbat which means "sweet water". Learn more.  Click on "Introduction".
